Love

Hi Friends! I hope you had a great weekend!  Feeling better every day. Although I took the grand kids this last Saturday...I hadn't
seen them in three weeks. So when I got to their house my son asked is I would take them  dress shopping. What an experience! MY oldest GD Jasmine, is 8 and very easy and has simple tastes. Found a dress right off the bat . Liberty who is 6 loves the bright colors and bling...needless to say I sent my son pictures of every dress  Liberty's picked out  and  my son x-nayed all of her choices. After a few stores she was getting mad. I tried to explain to her that her Dad wanted something in soft colors without bling for church and she says, my Dad has always told us to be confident and to not be  afraid to be ourselves...so why is he trying to choose what I wear? I explained that she is six and there are times when bling just doesn't work for some occasions.  And my oldest GD pipes up and says...I'm sorry Grandma but I have to agree with Liberty on this lol!! We finally found a dress that Dad and Liberty liked from The Gap...Thank God! I dropped them off and was in bed by 8:00 lol! I sat down for the 1st time in awhile and made some cards. I thought that the Papertrey challenges would be fun! I used the sketch and color theme below.

I started by embossing some PTI hearts of to the left and then used the colors above to watercolor the background, the heart, arrow and love word are all from PTI

Have a great week! Char

Hey, Char! This is beautiful...love your colors...so bright and cheery...yet tasteful...like dresses at Gap LOL! LOVED that story! our Gap closed and I really miss it for my own daughter. They did always have subtle, lovely bling for her:) Our choices now aren't so lovely...gaudy colors, caked with glitter...so frustrating!!! So glad everyone survived your trip and everyone came home happy!!! (so glad to hear you're feeling better!)

So glad to hear your health issues are subsiding and that you're feeling so much better. What fun to take your grands shopping. Enjoyed hearing their comments about their confidence in their choices, and what a perfect answer you gave them. Bet you were tired when the day was done. Loving that pretty heart card. So glad you are feeling up to card making once again. TFS & Hugs

I'm happy to hear you're feeling better Char, good news! Your card is just beautiful, love all of the fancy details and die cuts. I remember my mom taking my brother's two girls to buy them Easter dresses when they we in grade school, such an ordeal!! They all had different opinions on what was appropriate for Easter LOL!!!

What a gorgeous card, Char, I love your watercolor background. I have read some of your latest posts and am so sorry you have been ill! Hopefully the rabbit food will have you feeling better until you can have surgery. I love the story of your shopping spree. My daughters were like that, the first was easy to find something she loved...actually too much...and the second she never chose anything that I liked and it was in the end Target that she would choose something(not a dress of course) and then after all that shopping, she never wore what we bought that she liked! She also wore her old clothes to school and her new ones stayed in the closet! Kids are great, funny, but I am glad I don't have to repeat it with my granddaughter! Hope you feel better soon!

It's so nice to see you up and around and feeling better, Char! I'm still reeling from your loss of 20 pounds in the last post! That seemed REALLY fast. I've been trying to eat like a rabbit for three weeks now and I've lost THREE pounds. It must be an age thing. Well, and the fact that I walk about 138 steps a day. Whoops. Your story of your outing with the grands is a pure delight and so is your card!! Don't overdo!! Hugs, Darnell
