Cute as a button

Hi Girls :-)

I hope your having a great week! I've been so busy at work, trying to get ready for vacation, and have been a bit sick and on round three of antibotics...Uggg!!! Here's a quick card made with Little Bo Peep. The center is cut with my Silhouette and I backed the hearts with patterned paper. The doily is one of many that I picked up at my local antique store.

By next week on the 4th, I'll be headed to the coast for my yearly vacation and can't wait! The weather here has been cooler then 106....it actually rained here 2 nights ago...poored!!, but tomorrow and all this week it will be back in the 90's. I'm also bust making alot of Crate paper goodies and will be able to share soon :-) And I'm thinking I will be back to have a blog anniversary giveaway to my followers as I ran short last year and didn't do one. I always appreciate you visiting and love that I've made some really good friends blogging :-)

Hi Girls!

For this week's creative weekly, we were asked to make a project  based on this picture:

I just love the inspiration picture this month for June's Creative Weekly as the yellow's and blue's remind me of summer! I immediately thought of doing a tall mini album for my daughter to put memorabilia in from our trip to Las Vegas a few years back. It was our 1st trip together, just mother and daughter, and one I will cherish forever! (And my feet are stilll screaming at me, even 4 years later lol) !! From morning till night we were go,go,go!! I went to the local office supply store and picked up a simple folder with pockets. I just folded it to make an album, and the pockets make a wonderful place to store our plane tickets, Cirque du soleil tickets etc..Thank You for letting me share!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend? It was 106 here both days and I pretty much stayed inside for the most part. I had to go grocery shopping, but waited until 10:00 lol! A girl who loves the heat? I am not!!!

Crate Paper + Little Boy Blue

Hi!

Have you seen the newest, sweetest paper (ever)!!  to hit the scrapbooking world yet? Well, here it is....Crate paper's "Little Boy Blue". It's so vintage and sweet, and I love the colors! Look at those adorable wood shapes.

I had a chance this last weekend to play with this new line and I made some cards...

I love the vintage feel to this line and the soft, but bright colors. I think my favorite thing is the adorable wood shapes!

A Crate Chart

Hi Girls

Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend?

For the month of May Crate assigned a project to make a chart of any type. My first thought was to do a Chore Chart for my granddaughter, but then the question became, how? Luckily, during a recent visit to my favorite scrapbook store, it's owner kindly donated to me this adorable tray. Turns out, it's a $1.00 purchase at the ol' Dollar Tree! In hearing of this, I was excited greatly. After bringing it home, I painted the nickel plated tray (yes, it was a shiny nickel color - would you have guessed?) an ivory hue. As for creating the chart, I covered the inner part of the tray with Crate Paper patterned paper. I then applied a flat sheet of self-adhesive magnet on top the patterned paper. From there, with the help of Microsoft Publisher, I designed the chart, printed it on pattern paper and trimmed it accordingly so that it would fit as shown. The magnets are the sum of punched circles w/supportive backing {cork or chipboard} and small sized magnets {Feel free to cover them with dimensional adhesive or glass cabochons}. The birds nest is made from simple trim rolled into a circle. Super easy! And there you have it, a fun, interactive personalized chart for the kiddo's!

Well Girls, the weather went from 100 to 70 and raining today! What's with this crazy weather? I'm not complaining though....I love the cooler weather! And I was so completely touched this weekend going to the caregiver retreat. It was so incrediable to hear the stories of people who take care of their loved ones and I'm telling you it truly touched my heart!

Have a great week girls! Hugs, Char
