Thankful for you

Hi! I hope your having a great week! I'm still plugging along getting stuff ready for the scrap booking sale this weekend. My daughter came up to Redding so I filled her trunk to take to Chico because I don't have a truck and don't have enough room is my HUGE trunk for it all . We have hot weather still and a lot of fires. This week the town of "Weed" practically burned to the ground. there church, library sad. I pray that we get some much needed rain here soon!

Meanwhile, found a minute to make this card. I cut the background with my Silhouette. The flowers are from Wplus9 and they called Pretty Peonies. The sentiment is Precious Remembrance..
I hope you have a fabulous weekend! Hugs, Char

Frightful and Delightful

Hi Friends! I hope your having a great week! I've been  going through my scrapbook room and sorting and cleaning getting ready to take A LOT of my old things to a local scrapbook store to sell. There having a scrapbook yard sale and I bought 2 tables (8 feet) lol...Problem is it won't be enough. I have 6 years of accumulation :-)

I received this Tim Holtz owl stamp and a wonderful Walter and Winnie Halloween stamp set to play with so I HAD to play with then right?  I water colored the background with some distress inks and gelatos and stamped the web, spiders, owl and sentiment. I love the eyes on the owl they look like lemon or orange slices lol

Well back to cleaning. My whole living room floor is covered in filled boxes of scrapbook supplies. And really what amazes me is it doesn't even look like I did anything in my room...Oh No :-)

I'm entering this in the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge

and Darnell's

I'm submitting this to Darnell's NBUS challenge  (as Darnell  pointed out to Lisa, you can use new  Schtuff  to as it's never been used (Never occurred to me either Lisa :-)

I colored him in with my distress pens and after I was done I made a mask out of him laid it over the colored one and then I painted the sky with Faded jeans. I had this nifty Washi tape that I thought was fitting, and thats about it!

Have a great day! Hugs, Char

City Crafter Challenge 227 I can see clearly

Hi friends! I'm back from the coast. I went with my daughter and Kinley, and my MIL. It was a great time with 4 generations! It's my turn to host at City Crafter this week and I've chosen the theme:

use acetate, vellum,  clear plastic, etc! Make sure we can see your clear element on the card or project.

I got my inspiration for the background from Dawn at Wplus9. Click on the link and be prepared to be amazed :-).  I love the bokeh effect and it was so easy the way she did it!. I finished off the card with some vellum balloons that I embossed with some white embossing powder. The sentiment is from Wplus9. I love the lettering :-)

This week's prize package is sponsored by our Guest Designer and friend of CCCB - Stella
Hop on over to City Crafter and see the wonderful DT creations!! Hugs, Char

Mixed Media Card Challenge # 3

Hi Friends! Happy September!!! I thought September would never get here :-) It's time again for the Mixed Media Challenge! This month the challenge is Autumn Colors! Try creating a mixed media card that incorporates either metal or leaves or both! Go beyond your inks and stamps...and be as messy or clean as your creative muse tells you (or lets you) :-)

This month's challenge is pretty special too because we've got a fabulous sponsor: Add a Little Dazzle! She has some beautiful metal! You will be seeing more cards with metal :-)
Add A Little Dazzle is offering a $15 gift certificate to use towards products in the AALD Boutique

I started out embossing the left a panel with a stamp from Dylusions, then I colored it with Distress inks and a blending tool. I was sent some beautiful metal from Add a little dazzle ! This metal is so awesome and comes in different colors! I placed a tree die on top of the metal and ran it through my big shot. It cut perfectly the first time! Then I colored the tree with Alcohol Inks. I love how the tree picked up the curves and bends in the metal and if you look close the tree looks like actual bark!  I finished off with various colors to emboss the Sentiment which is from Winnie and Walter
I hope you can come join in the fun! Hugs, Char

I started off by embossing the leafs with gold embossing powder and then I used distress inks to color them in and then I finished them with gold gelatos for a beautiful sheen. Added some splatters (There always good right?) And that's it!
Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting me! Hugs, Char

City Crafter Challenge Week # 226 Shake It Up!

Hi, and a Happy Tuesday to you! This week Ros is our wonderful hostess and she has chosen the theme:

Make a Shaker Card!!

I decided to get out my PTI shaker supplies (it's about time). I started by using a blending tool and a stencil for the background. I blended together three colors. Then I took the top piece and cut the butterfly with a PTI die, and then I sat and wondered how I was going to get around all those curves and the antenna's with the tape lol! But, I managed to do it with the PTI sheets as you can cut it as small as needed (Thank Goodness), I then  filled it with three colors of sequins and that's it :-) I love shaker cards, their simple with a lot of the Aaawww quality from the recipient lol!

Our Guest Designer this week is Synnove ! Please stop by her blog and say hi!

Do you have any plans for this coming holiday weekend? I'm going to the coast with my daughter, granddaughter and MIL! I can't wait, one more final trip before the holidays start. It amazes me that once October starts the next three months fly by at an alarming speed! My favorite three months and poof, GONE before you know it! And then my most UN-FAVORITE time of the year (summer) drags on and on and on. Does anyone have a reasonable explanation for this? :-) Whatever your plans are, have a great weekend!
Hop over to CCCB and take a look at all the  wonderful projects from our team this week!
I hope you can play along this week!

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Char

Papertrey Blog Hop !!

Hi Friends!! Today is the monthly Papertrey Blog hop!

Here's my take. I started by using a polka dot stamp to emboss the  Dots with gold embossing powder to make the envelope insert. For the card I used Polka Dot Basics and in various sizes I started stamping random dots in embossed gold and 1st and 2nd generation stamping in Hibiscus Burst. I also embossed the gold paper under the top so it would show through on the bottom

Thanks for stopping by! Char

Miss You

Hi! I hope your having a great week so far! It's cooling down to around 97 here and it totally makes a difference in the fact that it's tolerable! The mornings are crisp and cool and makes me giddy that fall is around the corner!

I cut  the background with my trusty Cameo. I have found that it cuts watercolor paper like butter and you can cut intricate things easily. I water colored the background and butterflies with watercolor paint this time. I want to invest in some high quality watercolor but need to research fist. It's something I love to do so I don't mind the investment. The tag is PTI's newest tag sale die.
Nothing new here. Still nursing my arm and going to Chico on Saturday to see my baby! She's 2 months already and getting so big! Here's a video of her. My daughter said she is making a howling sound so she video taped it. It's so funny! I can't believe at 8 weeks she's doing this. Turn up the sound :-)
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day! Hugs, Char

Hi Friends! I hope your week is going great! It's almost over :-) I love my weekends but they don't last very long...but I always look on the bright least I have a job right? Otherwise I wouldn't be able to buy my card making goodies and that would be horrible!...I made this card with PTI's newest Make it market kit. I used the Memento Luxe . I LOVE these inks! Their pigment inks and go on so nice and crisp!

I hope I have some time to make some cards tonight, I got the MRI back on my shoulder...that's a story for another day , huh Sue ?lol!! All is damage or tears....just frozen shoulder.... the radiologist said you don't have to do anything they just happen to women your age .........really? I'm hearing that a lot lately and must say I'm not fond if it lol!! I hope you have a great weekend! The weather is coming down to around 99 and the air is actually cool in the morning....I'm getting so excited for fall, my favorite time of the year! Hugs, Char

City Crafter Challenge # 224 Roses

Hi Friends! I hope your having a great week so far! It's time for a new challenge at City Crafter And it's the very talented Anna's turn to host and she has chosen my favorite flowers as a challenge......
Theme : ROSES
Make a project using at least one rose (flower, stamp, paper, etc) You can make a card, tag, ATC, LO or any sort of project.
These roses remind me of the ones in my yard! In the spring they look like these, in the summer heat their half the size..its just to hot for them!
Here's my card. I started with water coloring the background with some aqua and yellows. After that was dry and splattered some of the same colors only stronger. The flowers are from PTI Make It Market called "Beautiful Brushstrokes". After I water colored in all the flowers I drew a frame around the flowers with a permanent black pen.

Our Guest Designer this week comes from France, and her name is Dawn! Please stop by her blog and say hi!
I hope you can play along this week!

Hop over to CCCB and take a look at all the projects from our team this week!
Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Char

Sending Happy Thoughts your way

Hi Friends! Just poppin in to share a card I made awhile back and forgot to share.

For the sun rays I colored the back of a stencil with distress markers, sprayed a bit of water and laid  it on the watercolor paper. I intensified the yellow after it was dry with some more distress pens and blended with my water color brush. The cut the city out twice and water colored the buildings. After that was dry I used some foam tape and layered then off center from each other. The heart is embossed with some gold glitter embossing powder. The stamp is from Altenew called sketchy city.

I hope you have an awesome weekend!!! I'm watching Kinley tomorrow and can't wait. She's 7 weeks already!
Hugs, Char

City Crafter Challenge Blog 223 Home is where the heart is

Hi everyone! This week its my turn to host at City Crafter and I've chosen the Theme
Make a card or project using a house
I fell in love with this house! Its adorable! You don't have to make a Christmas house, any house is great!
Well I had a mini album made for this challenge, but when I went to take a picture of it..... it was no where to be found!! How could a mini album just disapear? I have looked high and will show up when I'm not looking right? So I had to scurry and make a card :-) I started by embossing a piece of watercolor paper and water colored it with some distress inks. The houses are cut with my Cameo. I also ran the houses through my big shot with a wood grain embossing folder and then water colored those. After everything was done I couldn't find a place to put the sentiment and thats when vellum comes in handy :-)

Our Guest Designer is Lula ! Come join in the fun and be inspired by the CCCB Designers

Mixed Media Card Challenge #2 Summer

Hi Friends!   Can you believe it is already August??!! :)  Another month has gone by and it's time for the next Mixed Media Challenge (#2 - Summer:  optional element - burlap).  We had an incredible amount of participants for our first challenge (Touch of Nature) and the DT enjoyed looking at all the beautiful creations - thanks so much for playing along with us! :)

 Challenge #2 ...

For my card I added three colors of distress paint to an embossing folder, laid watercolor paper inside and ran it through my Big Shot. Added distress paint to color the inside of roses. I Shabbied up some burlap so the color would show through the wings. This awesome butterfly is from Memory Box and is called Asti. This awesome die only cuts out the wings so you have so many choices!
And this is what the card looked like before the burlap went on. I think the burlap helped break up the colors. Don't you?
I hope you can play along this month! It's a lot of fun!!! Have a great weekend, I have the girls tonight and am excited! Hugs, Char
