Hi Friends

A quick update.. I was sick last week when I was diagnosed with gallstones and went to the doctors on Sunday and now have pneumonia I'm at home from work resting a lot but I've made a few decisions . I need to make myself better I need to concentrate on my health for my kids and my grandkids  , so I have sadly stepped down from two of my design teams I will no longer be on City  Crafter design team, or Paper Sweeties it's a said decision to make but I have a lot of stress in my life right now and I need to concentrate on me for the moment . I wanted to let you know as my blog will be silent for a while but my love for paper crafts will bring me back when I'm well and healthy again thank all of you guys for all of your support and well wishes I have made such wonderful friends I love this community that we have ! I will visit your blogs soon when I can  , I'm sure I'll be laying around healing see you soon friends !!

CAS(E) this Sketch Guest Designer

Hi Friends! Today I'm the Guest Designer at CAS(E) this sketch! Unfortunately, I have been very sick since Christmas. I have had three attacks that were unbearable. I went to the doctor yesterday and had an Ultrasound and it's my Gallbladder. I have stones and will have to have surgery. I didn't get my cards to Chrissy in time (yesterday,) was in horrible pain. I was a bit better today but sleeping alot and the heating pad is my best friend! Anyway , that's it for now....going back to bed :-(. Thanks Chrissy, I'm so honored!!

This technique is done by expermenting! I used a brayer and paint on an embossing folder. You don't run the embossing folder thru any machines, you just brayer the paint onto the folder put the paper inside and run your fingers over the folder to spread the paint. I added three different colors of paint each time. I think I really like this technique!

City Crafter week #245 Oh Feathers!

Hi Friends! Today a new challenge is up at City Crafter! Kirsty is our hostess and she has chosen the theme :
Feathers (To have feathers on your project, stamp, embellishment, wood piece, patterned paper etc)

For my card I started with a stamp set from Pink paislee called  "Color Wash Stamps"

I stamped the background with pigment inks and then die cut a feather from Wplus9. I glued about 5 feathers under the inked one for height,  And then layered the feather back on top.

Bea , this week's Guest Designer has graciously offered this week's prize package! (See picture below)

Thanks for visiting! I had a great time with my daughter and Granddaughter this weekend, although Kinley was sick :-( It's hard to see babies sick, but she's better today! Her Dad was out of town so I helped Destiny with her. It's hard not to steal her lol!

Have a great week!

Mixed Media Card Challenge New

Hi Friends!! Happy New Year to you!!! This is my second post for today. For Paper Sweeties go here.

The new challenge for The Mixed Media Card Challenge is up!! The theme is "NEW" Lots of ways to interpret that theme -- you could use new supplies, have the word "new" in your card, use a technique that is new to you, or however else you'd interpret the theme. "Tissue" is an optional element.

I liked the picture so thought I'd make something similar. I started by blending some distress inks to make the background. My card in person is alot darker, but I like the pink! I glittered up my fireworks with some Martha Stewart Glitter. The city scene is cut with my Cameo as is the sentiment.

I hope that the year year brings you lots of joy and happiness!!! Hugs, Char

Hi Friends! I hope you had a wonderful holiday! My daughter Destiny , Kinley and I went to Santa Cruz, Monterrey and Carmel. Carmel was my favorite because of the beautiful houses, scenic drive and wonderful shops..If you can think of the most quaintest town ever it's Carmel. They are known for their storybook houses.Below are a few. I hope you don't mind but I posted a few pictures of the trip! We had alot of fun! I WANT one of these houses, they are so darn cute in person!
