I can finally share a card that I made a while back that went into Scrapbook Trends magazine this month. I really like this magazine alot. It has beautiful colored pictures and wonderful inspiration!

My visit to Old Shasta

I went for a much needed drive awhile ago. We had a break in the weather and it was sunny! This town, Old Shasta, and Wiskeytown Lake are about 20 minutes from where I live. I sometimes forget and take for granted the beauty that surrounds Redding. I'm lucky to live here!! I wanted to share this cool old town that has the buildings up from the 1800's. Some of the town is gone from a fire but remments are still up! And the ones that burned down have signs up telling you what was there.

A happy friday to you! What are your plans this weekend? Are you going to watch the superbowl ? And if so, who are you wanting to win? At work today were having a chili cookoff and the employees vote for the best chili! It's so nice to work at a place that let's the employees do those things!! I'm very lucky :-)! Well whatever your plans....have a wonderful weekend!!

I was waiting for a friend to get off work and sitting in my car..I heard all this racket and looked up there were all these birds evenly spaced sitting on the powerline...had to take a pic :-)

And a BIG thank you for all your thoughts and prayers and for being patient :-) I'm doing O.K. but have a very heavy heart and I'm finding that I can't concentrate. My mind is all over the place. More then usual :-) And I sat down last night and tried to make a card....nothing, blank, Hopefully that will go away soon :-)

I'm so thankful for my wonderful friends!

Just an update

I will draw a name at the end of this week. Thanks for all the wonderful stories!! I lost my brother on January 28th and have been taking care of things. :-(.

RAK !!!

Good morning! Here's a little coffee cup I made that has an opening in the top for your Valentine's treats! I got the template here http://www.stampington.com/html/tempting_template_mug.html. I punched a border and glued it to the inside of the cup with my Martha Stewart punch. The paper is K & Co.

How's you're week going so far? Mines been good :-) Has everyone been looking at all the wonderful sneaks out there? I've looked at a few, and after my long hours at work are over I will have time to peak more :-) what's your favorite so far?

Where does the time fly?

I know, I've been MIA lately :-). It's just with the business I'm in, the beginning of the year is alot of hours at work :-(. It will hopefully come to an end soon! The bright side is, I'm going to Paradise on Saturday and that always cheers me up!!! I watched the grandkids on Saturday and they are just growing up WAY,WAY to fast!! Anyone know of a way to stop that (HA-HA) !

Here's a few cards to share. This 1st one is made with Fancy Pants paper, and the heart on his hand is ...SURPRISE, a Martha Stewart punch lol!! I added stickles on his arms and legs to dress him up a bit. Caardvarks is having a challenge using red hearts...that's it!! http://caardvarks.blogspot.com/





And this card is made with Basic Grey's (Nook and Pantry) paper, Maya Road chipboard, and a few Martha punches. The writing is Melissa Frances rub-on's.

Good Morning!

It's rainy and cold this morning. A good day to sleep in, but off to work I go :-). It's suppose to rain all week. Mind you, I'm not complaining as we really need the rain! It's still my busy time at work but it will come to and end soon. I went to Paradise this weekend and brought goodies from Paradise Scrapbook Boutique..it was wonderful as always!


Here's a card I made for a 2 sketches 4 you ! It's always fun to play along with these talented ladies and Laura and Kazan have wonderful sketches! I also incorported twigs for CARDS challenge this week. I've used twigs on my cards in the past and it's always such a fun element to bring into a card :-)

And here's a LO I did this weekend to. I love this picture of my son and grandaughter.

Trigger Tuesday !

This weeks Trigger Tuesday comes from Maren Benedick. Isn't this plate gorgeous! I get into trouble when that Pottery Barn catalog lands in my mailbox :-)..Below is my take on this picture.

I used my Cricut cartridge for the circle base of the card. The dotted paper is Papertrey. I embossed the white cardstock and used a pearl paint dabber on top for glimmer and then used some Old Paper distressed Ink to antique a little. The bird is Heidi Swapp. I also crackled the background of the tag for some added interest. The stamp is papertrey...I so love everything Papertrey (Giggles) !

I made this card with Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine paper. I really love this paper. It's so me lol!! And I am officially a "Paper Punch Addict" !!!! I love them and have more then I should! But, then again I have too much of everything my daughter tells me! I'm sure that you will agree with me that we can never have too many scrapbooking supplies. Am I right?

Both paper punches are new and are Martha Stewart. The hearts are Martha Stewart too, and the button is Papertrey.

And this card was made with Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine also. I got the trim from my favorite scrapbook store.....Paradise scrapbook boutique, they have the best selection of trims!!

I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas! Mine was great! I bought Jasmine a trunk of princess dresses and it was a hit! She had to try on each and every one of them! I loved it! And Liberty only being 1 surprised me because she was so into opening presents, it was a wonderful time!! I'll share more pics later :-). It's been a very lazy few days, I went to the movies today and saw "It's Complicated", and it was wonderful!!! I laughed throughout the whole movie...It's a must see!!!

Here's a few Valentine cards I made last night with Fancy Pants paper. I really love the colors in this line and the fact that it's on Kraft paper.

I hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend! Getting ready to go shopping...I only have 1 person to buy for then I'm done! Sitting here listening to Christmas music....I think I'm finally getting into the spirit! Here's a few cards to share...I loved making them all ! I just love doing these sketch's ! This week were did a sketch from talented Kazan !

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I did, my son made a wonderful tri-tip and Turkey. His wife Kim made the most wonderful pumpkin bread and worked very hard to prepare a wonderful dinner! The grandkids were so much fun and it was a very nice day!!

I don't want to be a downer, but just wanted to share that this card was very hard to make. My Mom passed away a few years ago and I haven't been able to make a Mother's Day card or Father's day card either. This is my 1st....I get melancholy around the Holiday's...it's hard to loose your parents....things are never the same...so, treasure them while they are here! O.K. just had to get that out! Better now :-)

Happy Sunday! Just a quick post before I babysit grandkids!! I made this card mostly with my Cricut Christmas cartridge. I cut the snowflakes, bird, church, and trees with it. The fence is my Martha Stewart punch. I hope you have a fabulous day!! My October Afternoon came and Im dying to use it...Maybe tomorrow :-). I'm going to see New Moon with my daughter tonight..should be fun!

Jasmine is looking so old! She is the perfect image of her mom. I can't believe how much Jasmine looks like Kim :-) Kim took these pictures in her parents backyard. And photoshoped them. I like the black and white with the colored flowers.

I think I could burst with the love I have for these girls...my grandaughters :-)

Where does the time go? I looked and its been 8 days since I posted...bad Char :-) My only excuse is I'm been in a scrappy mode for December's card kit. :-)

Wow, it's Wednesday again ! I'm going out of town this weekend with a bunch of friends to celebrate one of their birthday's. I can' wait!! And Charlene A....even though your not here we will celebrate you too :-)

Here's a card I made for my friend that loves to cook. I'm giving her a gift card at Christmas, so I thought an apron would be great! The heart on the apron is the new Martha Stewart punch. I went to Michel's this weekend I went crazy on punch's. I love them! I just made a little pocket on the front to slip your gift card into. Sorry for the bad picture...Im photography challenged lol!!

Well did everyone have a wonderful Halloween? It's so odd....Its still 78 degrees and doesn't feel like it's Halloween time...And in three weeks Thanksgiving....WOW!! How did the holiday's sneak up on us? :-) I have one Christmas present bought and every year I say I'm going to start early lol! One year we all asked for gift cards and we won't do that again !!! There's nothing like opening real gifts. Isn't that what Christmas is all about?

How's everyone's week? Mine is good. Ive been busy making cards for a DT call. Wish me luck ? I made this card with Jilli Bean paper, and a little Cosmo Cricket too. The frame is tattered Angels that I sprayed with Maya Road Mist and then added glitter on top. It's not even Halloween yet and I'm making Christmas card lol!!! Boy, am I messed up :-)


And for this card I used Cosmo Cricket's new line "Nutmeg" it's an adorable line.

Well, somehow this card got deleted from my blog....so I will try again :-). Gotta love Blogger !! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile.....So many things going on in my life right now, and on top of it....I'm sick.Ug!

For this card i used Melissa Frances Chipboard that I embossed and painted and sparkled up :-) The tree is also Melissa, and the paper is October Afternoon ( I really love this line) and a little Making Memories paper. For the face of the snowman I painted him and hand cut the nose.

Wel, I'm finally feeling better! I managed to get outside today! It's such a beautiful fall day! I'm going to try and see the sun dial bridge tonight. It's decorated in pink lights in honor of "Think Pink" Brest Cancer Awareness Month. I will try and get some pictures of it. My picture taking skills aren't great at night lol!!!

I went to Paradise yesterday, to my favorite scrapbook store ! I just love the way the owner has it decorated. She has cute antiques around the store that hold supplies :-). Even an old refrigerator holds recipe paper!! How cute is that!! Paradise is about 2 hours from my house nestled among tall pine trees. I just wanted to share her adorable store with you!

Awwww Fall !!

Happy Sunday!

It's so funny how just last week the weather was in the 100's, and this week in the 70's ! I've noticed that the leaves on the trees are starting to turn and I get so excited when fall comes!! It's my favorite time of the year! I start lighting my candles and I everything seems so much better :-). I love the smells in the kitchen, and the air is so crisp and clean!

I watched my grandbabies this morning and it amazes me how big their getting. Jasmine was in her princess shoes and dancing, and everytime I turned around she was pulling my arm saying Grandma, lets dance!! Oh! How they lift my heart and make me smile!!!

I want to thank everyone for all you're sweet comments! They lift my heart too :-).
